Organised in collaboration with the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie and the Canadian Foundation for Cross-Cultural Dialogue, this annual Francophone comedy night brings together acclaimed and up-and-coming Franco-Canadian talents, to delight the Greater Vancouver area with a memorable evening of comedy, in French.

 

For the past ten years, a loyal following amongst metropolitan Vancouver audiences has grown in response to the line-up of hilarious artists, at times sarcastic but always just plain funny. Since its debut, many artists have come to perforn at this annual event: Anthony Kavanagh, Laurent Paquin, Mona de Grenoble, Korine Côté Boucar Diouf, Marie-Lise Pilote, André Sauvé and many more.

Garihanna Jean-Louis

An actress for over twenty years, Garihanna became the first Black female comedian to graduate from the National School of comedy in 2017. With an electrifying energy and a unique mango maple-flavored humor, this dual citizen, who has performed at numerous major festivals, shares her exotic and colorful world across the globe in three different languages. She has received multiple awards and honors since beginning her journey in comedy. She was named Artist of the Year at ZOOFEST in 2022, won a Gémeaux award in 2021, Actress of the Year in 2019, and Discovery of the Year in 2017 and 2018 at the International Comedy Festival, to name just a few. She often says that humor is cultural, but laughter is universal. What better way to communicate and connect than laughter to stay positive, inclusive, and open to the world!

Jérémie Larouche

A graduate and now a professor at the École nationale de l’humour, Jérémie has a unique storytelling style that draws audiences into his fantastical and romantic world. Nominated for Author of the Year at the 2015 Olivier Awards, he won the Media Choice Award, Comedian of the Year, and Best Solo Show for his first 60-minute performance at ZOOFEST, as well as the ZOOFEST 2016 Audience Choice Award for his adult puppet show La Saga des Étoiles, a parodic retelling of the first six episodes of the Star Wars saga. He currently hosts Pas plus bêtes que nous (Season 4) on UNIS TV, Cultive ton comique on ICI Tou.tv, and Question suivante on Radio-Canada’s @mordu platform. He received five nominations at the 2021 Gémeaux Awards for Pas plus bêtes que nous and Cultive ton comique, including Best Host, Best Show, and Best Writing.TON COMIQUE sur ICI Tou.tv et QUESTON SUIVANTE sur la plateforme @mordu de Radio- Canada. Il a reçu 5 nominations au gala des prix Gémeaux 2021 dans les catégories PAS PLUS BÊTES QUE NOUS et CULTIVE TON COMIQUE, notamment meilleure animation, meilleure émission et meilleur texte.

Ryan Doucette

Ryan Doucette is an Acadian actor, comedian, and screenwriter from La Baie Sainte Marie, Nova Scotia. Winner of the prestigious Grand-Pré Award in 2020, presented by the Creative Nova Scotia Awards, he is best known for his work as the host and writer of the show Le sens du punch on Unis TV, which has resonated well with audiences. On stage, Doucette is an accomplished comedian, having performed in cities such as Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton, and Halifax, among others. He has appeared in several renowned festivals, including the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Festival RIEN in Caraquet, Minifest in Montreal, and the Hubcap Comedy Festival in Moncton. Most recently, he successfully completed the tour of his one-man show Punch moi as part of ROSEQ 2022, solidifying his place in the Franco-Canadian comedy landscape.

Evelyne Roy-Molgat

Franco-Ontarian comedian Evelyne Roy-Molgat has been performing on stage since she was 14. At only 23, she already has a wealth of experience, from hosting at the iconic Montreal’s Bordel Comédie Club to performing in numerous festivals and, most recently, presenting her own solo show. With her infectious energy and quick wit, she’s sure to charm you.
